Dan

Dan a.k.a Dirty Dan the Ice Man started banging the buckets and cans at the early age of
8 and immediately fell in love. Beginning his development in symphonic and marching
bands, he pushed through his discovery of rock n’ roll, had a short stint with metal, hard
rock and punk and after delving into indie rock and jam band music, DDIM landed on his
feet at the Berklee College of Music with a desire to learn Jazz. From Dizzy, Miles and
Trane, to Rosenwinkel, Wayne (Shorter), Brian Blade and Chris Dave, Dan started
developing his own sound in Jazz and ventured into African and Indian music before
moving to Brooklyn in 2009. His primary influences are his daily experiences and he
reminds us often that, “sometimes in music, it’s more about the notes you don’t play than
the ones you do.”
